We are a small team comprising of one full-time post which is shared between two advisory teachers. We are based at Millbrook Primary School, but spend a large proportion of our time on visits to schools.

Please be aware that the advisory teachers for the Swindon Dyslexia-SpLD Service no longer receive any admin support. Therefore, we thank you in advance for your patience in waiting a little longer for a response to your queries.

Sue Kinsler

Advisory Teacher for Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties

I began my teaching career teaching Business Studies and Economics at a
Secondary School in London. After having two children, I chose to
change direction in my career to specialise in teaching dyslexic learners
and year 5 and 6 pupils, English and Maths. This was following training
with Dyslexia Action and York University to become a specialist dyslexia
teacher. I then gained a PGDip in Literacy and Dyslexia and was
awarded
Associate Membership of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA).

I joined the Advisory Service as a part-time Advisory Teacher for
Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties in September 2013. I am also the
co-chair of the Marlborough District Dyslexia Association, supporting and
teaching children with literacy difficulties/dyslexia locally. I am committed
to supporting learners to overcome their literacy difficulties and
supporting schools to adopt Dyslexia Friendly good practice.
